Information and Electronic Records Management in Europe: Achievements and New Directions
The fifth triennial DLM Forum conference was held in Toulouse, France on December 10 to 12, 2008 under the sub-title: "Information and Electronic Records Management in Europe: Achievements and New Directions"

After the 2008 conference, the Archives of France compiled the complete proceedings into the two superb electronic volumes that you will find in the downloads below. It is recommended that you use these volumes as your guide to exploring the many individual presentations here. You will find that the presentations are listed in the same order as they appear in the proceedings.
The proceedings are in both French 
and English 
while individual presentations are in either English or French, as indicated below.

Entitled "tomorrow is today's history" the video tells two parallel stories, one rooted in tracing an ancestor from the Dutch colonial period and the other a "detective" story involving an investigative journalist, government cover-ups and the pressing issue of dealing with climate change. Key to the resolution of both stories is the application of the rigour of traditional archival science but in important new ways applicable to the rapidly changing digital age in which we live.
A landmark achievement, it is not often that national archives have the opportunity to advertise how essential their role is in the modern world, serving not only to unlock the past but also assisting in shaping the future.
